The Last Christmas Together
The holiday that I always will remember and love is Christmas Eve, because we always spent a good time with some relatives at my grandmother’s house. It was always the same system at my grandma’s house, first eat the dinner, second take some drinks and talk about everybody and finally the best part for me, open the gifts.
I always thought that my grandmother had cooked the best turkey ever. She was very famous about this delicious plate, and no one could miss any of her dinner on Christmas Eve. During the dinner, all my uncles and relatives in general talk about their lives and what were they up to. However, I was only concentrated on my dish and just focus my sense in eating my plate. One of my best pleasures had always been the food since I have conscious of remembering. So, I never had any conversation during this beautiful moment.
The next thing that we always did was to go to the living room and the growth people started to drink and just laugh of their own experience in any kind of topics. In contrast, that was the most boring moment because I didn’t understand most of the things that they were talking about. In addition, I used to go out the house with some cousins and started to play. Then everything turns like a party for all of us; we just played until very late of night. Those moments were really beautiful because I remember how I enjoyed playing with all my cousins.
The best part of this holiday was to go back home after playing like crazy children, and see all those beautiful gifts that had different and colorful wrap papers. However, we had to wait until my grandmother started a pray. After she finished, my patience was really short because I wanted to open all my gifts but we had to go in order, family by family. And as I was the most inpatient, I was the last boy in receiving my gifts. There were some hard moments for me, because I just couldn’t wait, but as a result, I could learn to be more patient.
As a conclusion, the best thing of my live is that I always could learn something of what happened. This Christmas was a very important holiday in my life because it was the last one that we spent together with my grandmother; also because was the last one that we went to that house after her death. I can say that I took advantage of every second of that night, had fun with my relatives, my father could spend a good time with his mother and of course, we ate the last and best dinner ever.
